ABOUT THE STUDIO

Welcome to the MMC-Panasonic HDTV Studios on the campus of St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

 

A collaboration of Medical Missions for Children (MMC) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare System (SJHS), the MMC-Panasonic HDTV Studios is an elegantly designed High-Definition Audio and Video Recording and Broadcast facility, with fully-integrated private and semi-private video editing capabilities. In addition, the MMC-Panasonic HDTV Studios offers three (3) state-of-the-art HD telepresence suites, each of which showcases Polycom’s latest in HD conferencing, recording, bridging and web streaming technologies.

 

This production facility was created as an adjunct to MMC’s mission of delivering current and timely medical education content to the global healthcare community. By design, MMC is now able to produce high-quality medical content videos in a variety of different styles and formats. Presently, the main HDTV Studio with it 15’x12’ green screen provides the technical resources needed to support the production of programming in a talk show, magazine, documentary, tutorial and lecture format. With the ability to incorporate both animation and special effects into a production or post-production session, MMC is constantly challenging itself to find more impactful ways to communicate its messages to a global audience. MMC’s four premiere video series include: Plain Talk About Health, Tomorrow’s Medicine Today, Take Care and In Session.

 

Realizing that MMC’s utilization of its new studio represented only about 25% of its potential availability, MMC Chairman, Frank Brady, decided to offer its use to the local video production community. His hope is that by offering an extraordinary production facility with an attractively-priced rental arrangement, MMC will be able to create additional revenue for the charity’s global relief programs.

 

The MMC-Panasonic HDTV studios are located in northern New Jersey, offering easy access for producers located in Manhattan, as well as other sections of the Tri-state area. The main studio, which has been built on a vibration-elimination or “floating floor” system, is a completely soundproofed and acoustically treated room to ensure optimum production quality for video, graphic and audio inputs. The HD cameras, switchers and capture devices are provided and supported by Panasonic, and represent the latest in solid state digital technology.
