MMC Worldwide is the umbrella organization for a collection of “for-profit” agencies that share a common goal - to channel their profits toward the mission of providing better medical care to our world’s sickest children and offering more affordable and accessible continuing medical education tools to the global healthcare community. MMC Worldwide’s charity of choice is Medical Missions for Children, a 501(c)(3) organization located in Paterson, New Jersey. For the past ten years, Medical Missions or Children has dedicated its resources toward the creation of the Global Telemedicine and Teaching Network (GTTN), a technology-driven communications platform that (1) allows U.S. doctors to ensure the proper diagnosis and treatment of over 35,000 sick children living 108 countries, and (2) permits foreign doctors free access to a digital library of medical research, as well as surgical and clinical education videos that address issues within all disciplines of medicine.
Frank Brady, the Chairman and CEO of Medical Missions for Children, realized back in 2006 that a rapidly-expanding charity (like the one he co-founded) was not likely to be able to sustain its growth by adhering to the donative model that is characteristic of the way operating foundations raise funds. Consequently, at this time, he and his management team developed a strategy to create for-profit organizations whose charter it would be to first deliver high-quality services for other for-profit and not-for-for profit organizations and then to use whatever profits that were generated from these business transactions to support the charity’s mission. In essence, the goal was to create an exclusive pool of reliable donors dedicated to helping Medical Missions for Children meet its charitable objectives.
In 2007, MMC Worldwide was created to separate the for-profit activities that were being formed from Medical Missions or Children. This structure allows MMC to comply with all the requirements of being an IRS designated 501(C)(3) charitable organization while at the same time enjoying a dependable stream of donations from each of the MMC Worldwide companies.
Today MMC Worldwide is made up of seven revenue producing entities:
The MMC-Panasonic HDTV Studios – the first and only High-Definition TV Studio in the state of New Jersey.
MultiMedia Concepts – a leading provider of advanced HD video production and visual communications services.
Concept 2 Reality – a cutting-edge graphic design and web development agency.
The MMC-Hyatt Hotel – a 19-story, 180 room hotel located on the campus of St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
“Something Special” – an exciting new book about Medical Missions for Children authored by Peg and Frank Brady (and written by Johnnie McDonald).
Phoenix South East - a value added reseller (VAR) for Phoenix Manufacturing Inc. Phoenix manufactures a line of patented PVC products and provides sales and distribution in five states and on the Internet.
